This is not a commercial site, just an archive of great information for those searching for ancestors, or wanting to find a grave, or just interested in the history of the area.

We are starting a great new project, documenting Highfield and Portswood during the wars, to be ready for a very special Remembrance Sunday at Highfield Church. We are planning to pay tribute to those listed on the memorials and rolls of honour and to collate stories of wartime experience of people with a connection to Highfield. There is a lot to do and the ambitions are only limited by practicalities and time. If you have ideas or enthusiasm and are interested in being part of this valuable piece of work, please just get in touch. Any level of experience or contribution is hugely welcome - we want to throw the doors open to everyone who would like to get involved or has information that might be included.

This site will never be completed as there will always be something more to add. Currently the focus is on Highfield Church (offically Christ Church, Portswood) and Highfield CofE School. However, if you see there is something mentioned and a link doesn't work or there is information missing, don't hesitate to get in touch.
