Welcome to our site full of information about the former hamlet of Highfield, South Stoneham, but now part of Southampton, Hampshire.
This is not a commercial site, just an archive of great information for those searching for ancestors, or wanting to find a grave, or just interested in the history of the area.
It has been made possible thanks to enthusiasts who have a love for this kind of thing and we hope that you find the information and resources of interest.

Over the course of 2010, we worked on a project to document some of what happened to the people of Highfield and Portswood during the wars. This project is now closed and the information is being added to the website as time allows.
It has been a privilege to work with everyone on this; to share their memories and learn of their stories. We have also enjoyed the enthusiasm and dedication of the children at Highfield School in their contribution, which can now be seen here.
For more information see the "Lest We Forget" page, contact us via email or via a note in the Highfield Church pigeon holes addressed to Highfield History.
This site will never be completed as there will always be something more to add. Currently the focus is on Highfield Church (offically Christ Church, Portswood) and Highfield CofE School. However, if you see there is something mentioned and a link doesn't work or there is information missing, don't hesitate to get in touch. Additionally if you have information you would like to add - we would love to hear from you.
